Despite the creator’s perpetual insistance that Invader Zim is “cancelled forever”, it’s finally going to return to television in the form of a new TV movie.

As a part of the network’s devotion to celebrating 25 years of Nicktoons and providing new content for fans of the original series who are now in their 20s and 30s, Nickelodeon is breathing new life into some old favorites including Rocko’s Modern Life and Hey, Arnold!

Invader Zim only ran for two seasons, but it developed a cult following of fans who still beg Vasquez to make more Zim.

Richard Horvitz (Zim), Rikki Simons (GIR), Andy Berman (Dib) and Melissa Fahn (Gaz), and Jhonen Vasquez (the creator) will return for the film.
